Homebirth for Sweet Beginnings

Throughout your prenatal care, I am coaching you to empower yourself to let go and give birth the way your body knows how. I am on call three weeks before the due date, and carry a cell phone at all times.

When you feel you are in labor, I will come to you as soon as you like, listen to the baby’s heartbeat periodically throughout your labor, and make sure that you are doing well. I will be involved as much as you need me and will assist your partner to help you throughout your labor and delivery.

During labor, I suggest you get into different positions to help the baby descend lower into the pelvis and help the cervix to thin and dilate. I assist you to get into different positions to push the baby out.

  • I will assist if you or your partner want to catch the baby

  • I will help with perineal massage and help you to breathe while pushing the baby out

  • Hypnotherapy, relaxation, herbal & homeopathic remedies are available if needed while in labor

  • As part of my approach, I use massage and acupressure points to help the mother relax during labor

I assess the baby to make sure that all is well. The placenta is checked to make sure that every part is present. I bring emergency supplies and stay at least three hours after the birth of the placenta to make sure that both mother and baby are well.

I am always continuing my education and am certified in neonatal resuscitation and adult professional CPR.

“If you want to relax, watch the clouds pass by if you’re laying on the grass, or sit in front of the creek; just doing nothing and having those still moments is what really rejuvenates the body…”.

Take some time. Treat yourself. You deserve it.
